On January 12, 2010, a major earthquake struck the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. It is the worst disaster to hit the country in 200 years, and it is difficult to imagine the scale of this disaster and the tremendous challenges facing the people of Haiti.
During this time of tragedy there is an urgent need for financial support. Keyera has decided to donate $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Fund to assist in disaster relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
We encourage others to donate any amount to aid the disaster relief. The federal government has earmarked up to $50 million to match Canadians' donations to charities aiding relief efforts in Haiti. If you are interested in contributing to this humanitarian effort, the CBC has established a website that lists a variety of registered charitable agencies in Canada http://www.cbc.ca/haitirelief/ to enable you to donate online.
